Who Said Size Doesn't Matter?


My best friend back in Miami just sent me this pic of one of my Nordstrom orders he received. Such a vulgar sized box for (although precious) a single Chanel nail polish.

I remember Nordstrom once (maybe twice) sent my 3 complimentary samples in their own box, similar in size to the one in the photo above...such a waste!

Btw, Can't wait to paint my nails with Chanel's Coup De Coeur.

Have you ever experienced the same thing with over-sized packages?

    They seriously suck about that. I got a huge box for ONE sample. A sample I clicked "no thanks" to in the first place (I almost always refuse the samples and click no thanks, bec I never use them and they collect...). They're still atrocious about their shipping.

      Same here, I got a huge box with one sample packet. I wouldn't be surprise if they started send the receipt in its own box.

    I always wonder why they do that. Is it because they're less likely to be lost? Easier to keep an inventory of only a few sizes of boxes? Easier to stack? It doesn't bother me so much now that I recycle all my boxes but I do feel a bit guilty that so much fuel is consumed and air pollution created transporting via air and truck just to deliver a little something frivolous. I don't know how to resolve that as I love receiving treats...

      Wow, what a well-thought-out and thorough comment, thank you Anonymous! I guess one way to resolve the matter, is to visit the counters instead of shopping online. Unfortunately, it's not possible/practical for some/most of us.
